20 Most WTF Moments In The DCEU (So Far)

Slightly less-laughable but infinitely more infuriating than Cavill's 'stache is the infamous "Martha!" scene from Batman v Superman.

The much-hyped battle between the Caped Crusader and Man of Steel comes to a close when, just as Bats is about to stab Supes to death with a Kryptonite spear, he stops after learning that Superman's mother has the same name as his own.

While the obvious intent was to show to Bruce that Clark is a living thing with a mother like himself, rather than a mere alien "other," the execution was sorely lacking on Zack Snyder's part.

Ultimately it just felt incredibly contrived that Superman would refer to his mother by her actual name rather than "my mother," as if to clumsily hammer the point home that their mothers have the same name. Got it.

Unsurprisingly the ridicule was immediate and damning, with the entire scene becoming an overnight meme and still being enthusiastically rubbished today. Way to take a potentially momentous moment and just ruin it.
