20 Most WTF Movie Moments Of 2018 (So Far)

1. Maisie Is A Clone...For Some Reason - Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom

Of the many questionable creative decisions made in the latest Jurassic Park movie, nothing is as stultifyingly inane as making the film's token child character, Maisie Lockwood (Isabella Sermon), a clone...because reasons.

This is hinted at early in the movie and then basically left to fester for the second act, before it's revealed late in the film that she's actually a clone of her "grandfather" Benjamin Lockwood's (James Cromwell) dead daughter.

It's a sublimely stupid twist - even for Jurassic Park's standards - and seems intended solely to set up the film's finale, where Maisie frees the trapped dinosaurs into the wild because, of course, they're clones, just like her. Cue the eye-rolls.

It's surely the most convincing proof that writers Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly need to be kicked off this franchise, otherwise Jurassic World 3 might actually graduate to human-dinosaur hybrids. Bank on it.
