20 Movie Scenes That Were Made Epic By Perfect Song Choices

3. Jack Rabbit Slims - Pulp Fiction

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPbfDwP3CZw The Song: You Never Can Tell - Chuck Berry (1964) The Scene: Mia Wallace and Vincent Vega engage in a 'twist contest' at the fifties-themed Jack Rabbit Slims restaurant. Why It's Great: Like a lot of things in Pulp Fiction, the twist contest scene is cool. John Travolta awkwardly shuffling along to Chuck Berry really shouldn't be cool, but it is. A lot of it has to do with the song choice: learning well from Martin Scorsese, Tarantino is adept at picking winning tunes to accompany important scenes. Another reason the scene is so great is that it references (although not overtly) similar scenes from a couple of 1960s French New Wave films, such as the famous dance sequence in a Bande รก part.
