20 Movie Scenes That Were Made Epic By Perfect Song Choices

15. California Dreaming - Chungking Express

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAH-0GKvIrM The Song: California Dreaming - The Mamas And The Papas (1965) The Scene: That should read 'scenes' as the song is played several times throughout the course of the second half of the film. It's first heard at the point in which Faye and Cop 223 meet outside the Midnight Express takeaway. Faye is then shown listening/dancing to the song a few more times. Why It's Great: It's a great song, first and foremost. Not only is it the Faye characters favourite song, but also speaks of her desire to go and live in the American state. On a deeper level, the song is used to make a comment about the increasing globalisation modern-day Hong Kong.
