20 Movie Sequels That Are Totally Flawless

The second chapter of Richard Linklater's magnum opus Before trilogy, Before Sunset picks up nine after Jesse and Céline met and fell in love whilst travelling through Vienna. Jesse is now an author with a book he's written about their brief time together, and Céline is an environmental activist.

Whilst Before Sunrise is all about the concept of the fateful chance encounter, Sunset is about the one that got away. It's an intimate portrait of two people still in love but with lives now complicated by families, careers and regrets, and how they combat their feelings.

With more maturity than Sunrise but a much more intelligent and romantic tone, the sequel soars with Linklater's witty, personal script and the natural chemistry and talent of stars Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy. It's a touching assessment of love and how time changes us, and the best instalment in a trilogy with no faults.
