Previous Film: Expectations weren't exactly high for Crank: High Voltage (which was marketed with the tagline, "He was dead...but he got better"), yet barmy directors Neveldine/Taylor cranked the insanity up to 11 and delivered a deliriously surreal sequel which outdid the original film in pretty much every way. Who can forget that Godzilla fight sequence? Why It Needs To Happen: Because High Voltage ends on a hilariously tantalising cliffhanger, with Chev Chevlios (Jason Statham) resurrected as a char-grilled zombie of sorts, and honestly, what fan of this franchise doesn't want to see a third film released in 3D? Current Status: Neveldine and Taylor both insist Crank 3 will happen eventually, though a major obstacle working against them is that High Voltage cost more to make than the first film and grossed less. Is a third film really going to make much bank, even with Statham being just one of a few reliable action stars these days? As much as fans want to see it, it's probably not going to happen.
