Previous Film: Disney's latest animated film, adapted from the Marvel comic of the same name, hit cinemas late last year to solid acclaim, succeeding largely because of the titular team's lovable mascot, Baymax. Why It Needs To Happen: Unlike most Disney releases, Big Hero 6 didn't at all feel like a one-off movie: considering that it clearly modeled itself off The Avengers, it really just feels like the first step in a franchise. With a strong box office haul (if admittedly nothing on Frozen), a sequel is virtually guaranteed to be a grand success, and there's clearly a lot more to do with these characters, especially Baymax. Current Status: Nothing has been formally announced yet, though Disney have confirmed that they are having discussions about it, but will only proceed if they can crack a great story. You can't ask for much more than that.
