Previous Film: After years of the show's declining quality, 2007's The Simpsons Movie was a pleasant surprise to say the least, delivering a brand of comedy closer to that of the earlier seasons, complete with gorgeous animation that only a big budget would allow (and, you know, Bart's wiener). Why It Needs To Happen: Because, now in its 26th season, the show is pretty much in the toilet from a creative perspective, and if the writers can rustle up some of the same ingenuity that made the previous movie a hit, it might prove to people that there's still some life left in the old dog yet. Current Status: Producer James L. Brooks has always remained vague about confirming a second movie (especially since it redirects resources away from production of the show), though it's almost certain to happen at some point down the line, possibly when the show's ratings finally get low enough that it bows out.
Stay at home dad who spends as much time teaching his kids the merits of Martin Scorsese as possible (against the missus' wishes).
