20 Movie Sequels You Didn't Know Were Coming In 2022

Rian Johnson's Knives Out is one of the most successful original movies of the last few years, scoring near-universal critical praise, $311.4 million at the box office against a mere $40 million budget, and an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

It wasn't long before Johnson confirmed he was writing a sequel set to also star detective Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig), though given the sheer number of projects he has in the works - including his own apparent trilogy of Star Wars films - most assumed a Knives Out sequel was still a good while out.

Then the recent bombshell dropped, that Netflix had acquired the rights to the first two Knives Out sequels for a staggering $400+ million.

So distracting was this piece of information that it was easy to miss the fact that Knives Out 2 was not only written but also set to begin filming in Greece at the end of June.

Considering that the original film premiered less than a year after it started shooting, there's basically zero chance the sequel misses a 2022 release if that shooting date sticks.

Expect the presumably star-studded ensemble cast to be announced before you know it.
