20 Film & TV Remakes You Didn't Know Were Coming

Arguably TV shows can be harder for audiences to let go of than films. Watching weekly episodes or binging at home, for potentially years and decades can form attachments that some may not be ready to give up on when the time comes.

As such, Desperate Housewives creator Marc Cherry has been constantly bombarded with questions about when and if the show would return. Though his own idea may have been a prequel, the iconic cul-de-sac will be revisited in a reboot surrounding a completely new cast of characters.

Wisteria Lane, set to be produced by Kerry Washington, will bring the same premise of the picture perfect, tight-knit community of frenemies awash with an undercurrent of dark secrets. The initial details forgo any mention of any returning characters, but there is always room for a little nostalgia in these projects, and if Eva Longoria wants to show her face, would anyone truly be against it?

While some reboots, many that are on this list, try and take the project in a truly different and sometimes radical direction, the intent here seems to be to keep the tone as close to the original series as possible, only with a bit more social media involved. Honestly, this seems like a natural next step, and could work in the show's favour.
