20 Film & TV Remakes You Didn't Know Were Coming
8. Magic
Sam Raimi is a name that has been synonymous with horror ever since the iconic Evil Dead in 1981. The last two decades have in fact seen the man direct more Marvel movies than horror outings, but 2026 saw his triumphant return to the genre.
Send Help was simply exceptional from beginning to end, and thankfully Raimi is sticking with horror in the near future. Though not in the director's chair this time, he will act as producer for a remake of Magic.
The 1978 outing was directed by Richard Attenborough, and revolved around the ventriloquist dummy of Anthony Hopkins' Corky going on a killing spree.
Raimi will be joined on the project by several other names familiar with the world of horror. Weapons' Roy Lee will also be producing, while the script will be penned by Mark Swift and Damien Shannon, writers of Freddy vs Jason and the remake of Friday the 13th. Whether such a film can live up to the likes of Anthony Hopkins and Richard Attenborough remains to be seen, but with Raimi involved, audiences could be in for a fun ride.
