20 Film & TV Remakes You Didn't Know Were Coming

In a sense, this one isn't too surprising because it feels as though every single Disney Animation film will eventually be brought into live-action. In fact, at the time of writing, the only official Disney princesses not yet to be reimagined in such a way are Merida, Raya, Pochahontas, Tiana, and Rapunzel.

The latter however, will not be counted among that list for too much longer. 16 years after the original released, which now seems like an eternity against the mere decade it took to remake Moana, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider are getting the inevitable remake treatment.

This one may have flown under the radar, since the project was initially shelved. Though announced in 2024, the poor box office performance of Snow White shook Disney's confidence in the concept, until Lilo and Stitch stormed across the billion dollar mark and set the world to rights again.

Since then, Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim have been cast as Rapunzel and Flynn respectively, replacing Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi from the original, and the rumours suggest that the slam dunk casting of Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel may be imminent.
