20 Movie Villains Who Were Unbelievably Petty

Envy and jealousy can be great motivators for cinematic villains, especially when paired with an infuriating amount of self-entitlement, and, of course, it doesn't hurt if they used to be close with the protagonist. Damian Anderson (Jonathan Majors) had all of this in Creed III.

There were a lot of factors in Dame's turn against Adonis Creed (Michael B. Jordan), and in fairness, some of them weren't exactly unreasonable. When they were kids, Adonis started a fight, and when Dame backed him up with his gun, he was arrested and never heard from his friend again.

However, the pettiness crept in when the two clashed on the beach after Damian won the World Heavyweight Championship. Above everything else, he resented his former friend for living what should have been his life as the big-time boxer.

Yes, "Diamond" Dame was the boxer of the two when they were younger, but that doesn't mean that Adonis was forbidden from making his own livelihood that way. Adonis' dad was the legendary Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers), after all, and so this was always going to be a potential route to success for the son. Dame could be mad at being abandoned, certainly, but Adonis wasn't living his former friend's life; he was living his own.
