20 Movie Villains Who Were Unbelievably Petty

6. White Goodman - Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story

There is something about a bad guy who has a genuinely compelling motive, where the audience can at least see things from their point of view, even if they don't agree with their actions. Then, on the other end of the scale, is the bad guy who is just an unmitigated d**k.

Enter, Dodgeball's White Goodman (Ben Stiller).

Already thinking he was better than everyone else - hell, he based his Globo Gym adverts on such a philosophy - White was a simply unpleasant man. He was rude, he was arrogant, he thought of women as objects, and he looked down on those across the street at Average Joe's.

White's actions throughout Dodgeball were petty on two different fronts. Firstly, he wanted to crush not only Average Joe's but the people within it, for nothing more than a new car park for his own gym; something that realistically wouldn't have affected his life whether he had it or not. Then, to compound his undeserved entitlement and immaturity, White found himself hating Peter LaFleur even more because he was rejected by Kate Veatch (Christine Taylor) and assumed it was only because of Vince Vaughn's character.

There was initially a version of the story where White and the Globo Gym Purple Cobras actually defeated Average Joe's in the final, but, thankfully, this was changed, as someone like White needed knocking down more than a few pegs.
