20 Movie Villains Who Were Unbelievably Petty

14. Aldrich Killian - Iron Man 3

Throughout his lifetime, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) either directly or indirectly created many of the bad guys he ended up squaring off against in his Iron Man armour. One such was Guy Pearce's Aldrich Killian, the man who aimed to control the war on terror by using the Mandarin as a puppet.

This was the villain's ultimate endgame. Killian wanted the West's greatest leader in one hand, and the world's most feared terrorist in the other, allowing him to both create and serve supply and demand. Then, he let his hatred of Tony Stark take over.

Back in the year 2000, Killian came to Maya Hansen (Rebecca Hall) and an incredibly drunk Tony Stark with a proposal for his think tank, A.I.M. Tony said he'd meet him on the roof and never showed, leaving the future terrorist alone and cold for well over an hour.

It was a d**k move, to be sure, but was Killian looking to repay it 12 years later by trying to kill Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow) a reasonable response? He said that Tony gave him desperation, and that he would repay him in kind, but in reality, he was just settling a score his wounded pride had clung on to for over a decade.
