20 Movies Released In 2015 Guaranteed To Win Awards

10. High Rise

Release date: To be announced. What's it about? J. G. Ballard's 1975 novel gets the big screen treatment courtesy of rising star of British cinema, Ben Wheatley. Starring Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons and Sienna Miller, High Rise sees the titular building serving as a metaphor for a corrupt and stratified society in which a doctor (Hiddleston) becomes seduced by the hedonistic lifestyle of the upper tiers of this closed community. What makes it award-worthy? A Cannes debut is likely for High Rise and it might just turn out to be Wheatley's first real hit - after a string of low budget but highly competent movies such as Down Terrace, A Field In England and Kill List it's high time he breaks out and moves onto something bigger. Ballard's source material certainly has the potential for a thought-provoking thriller well worth your time.
