Release date: December 18th What's it about? A long time ago in a galazy far, far away... J. J. Abrams and his collaborators are holding all their cards close to their chests for the return of the Star Wars franchise, although it's clear that this picks up some time after Return Of The Jedi and will feature new actors joining Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher amongst other stars from the original trilogy. What makes it award-worthy? It's unlikely to pick up an Academy Award for Best Picture (although who knows - stranger things have happened), but with its emphasis on practical effects in an age where many have grown weary of excessive CGI it's a sure bet to sweep the Oscars in visual effects and sound design.
