Fans of Pixar these days might be less than thrilled at the prospect of their favourite studio churning out nothing but sequels in the near future, but few can argue that the first decade of their output included one worthy box office hit after another. Choosing the "best" of these from such a rich and diverse selection is always going to be subjective, but few would argue that The Incredibles, directed by Brad Bird, isn't a truly special piece of animation. Playfully subverting superhero and spy comic books from the 1960s, The Incredibles features wall to wall wit and excitement as the superhero family go head to head with Syndrome. It probably isn't the only Pixar film which will go down in history as a real classic but it's certainly one of the best.
