20 Movies Since 2010 So Awful They're Actually Harrowing

15. Paul Blart Mall Cop 2

Nicolas Cage Trespass

2015 was the year of big sequels, making it the most hyped year in film history. Amidst all the anticipated sequels, one film no-one expected anything from was this belated and pointless sequel to 2009’s ok but unfunny action comedy, yet amazingly it fell short of those already low expectations.

This hopeless sequel sees Paul Blart once again battling some robbers, this time in a casino. Paul Blart 2 mainly offers a relentless humiliation of the main character. He may be played by the infuriating Kevin James, but he is in many ways a decent man and as he gets mocked, badly treated, and suffers misfortune at every turn, the film stops being a comedy and becomes a surprisingly sadistic exercise in humiliation. The film being so tedious and unfunny doesn't help either.

Frustratingly, the film does become good for just a few minutes, when Paul Blart delivers a rousing speech at a security officers’ convention and everyone there is moved, but shortly after descends back into utter stupidity.
