20 Movies Starring Harry Potter Actors Coming In 2017
12. American Made – Domhnall Gleeson
After a successful collaboration in 2014 sci-fi flick Edge
of Tomorrow, director Doug Liman and Tom Cruise will reunite in American Made,
a crime thriller about real-life pilot-turned-drug smuggler-turned-CIA ally
Barry Seal. Cruise will star as Seal and Harry Potter actor Domhnall Gleeson,
in one of his many film appearances this year, will play his delightfully named
CIA handler Monty Schafer.
Barry Seal certainly led a colourful life (well, before his 1986 assassination at the hands of cartel hitmen that is), transporting god knows how many shipments of cocaine from South America into the USA on behalf of the likes of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar before switching sides and helping to put several members of the Medellín Cartel in jail.
Rich pickings for a movie plot indeed, and the fact that it was featured on the 2014 Black List of most liked unproduced screenplays suggests American Made could be an excellent film.
