One of the most peculiar and fascinating attempts to remake a classic movie in recent memory, this redo of Dario Argento's classic 1977 horror hit sees art-house director Luca Guadagnino (Call Me By Your Name) unexpectedly taking the helm.

If nothing else, the filmmaker's spin is going to be starkly in contrast to Argento's, which is really the best possible path to take when retooling such a beloved movie.

The frontline cast is certainly interesting, with Dakota Johnson playing protagonist Susie, while Chloë Grace Moretz takes the role of her ballet classmate Patricia, and Tilda Swinton is sure to steal the show as the ballet academy's harsh director, Madame Blanc.

Anyone who's Googled spy pics from the set will know that Swinton's poised to give another classically transformative performance, scarcely recognisable underneath layers of makeup. It's sure to be something to see.

Horror remakes typically elicit nothing more than a groan, but honestly, this could be pretty great.
