Pixar's The Incredibles remains one of the animation studio's best-loved movies, one that's taken almost 15 years to get a sequel despite the superhero film essentially being tailor-made for the franchise treatment.

The majority of the original film's cast will return for the sequel, including Samuel L. Jackson as Lucius Best aka Frozone.

Though the plot is largely being kept under wraps for the time being, it's known that the film will pick up immediately after the original, and see the Parrs, as well as Lucius, still struggling to juggle their normal lives with being superheroes.

There will inevitably be a new supervillain for the team to deal with, and it's reasonable to expect plenty of wink-wink gags about how the superhero movie genre has evolved since 2004.
