In Star Wars: The Raid star was handpicked by J.J. Abrams (who was a fan of the martial arts franchise) to appear in The Force Awakens, playing gangster Razoo Qin-Fee, who chases down Han Solo for a debt, and of course, gets attacked by a giant squid monster. The New Movie: Remember the 2010 sci-fi flick Skyline? No? Despite a critical panning, it grossed roughly four-fold its budget, resulting in this extremely belated follow-up, starring none of the original cast members no less. Still, perhaps a clean break is what this apparent "franchise" needs, telling a tangential but unrelated story as a father (Frank Grillo) attempts to rescue his son from an alien warship. Uwais plays resistance leader Sua, so hopefully he'll get to unleash some of the martial arts awesomeness he (for some reason) didn't in The Force Awakens.
