20 Movies That Prove 2022 Is The Best Year For Horror EVER

The Predator franchise finally got back to basic best with Prey - a more down-to-Earth, straightforward action-horror in the vein of John McTiernan's 1987 original.

With its unique period setting, outstanding lead in Amber Midthunder, and bevy of brutal violence, Prey gave the long-suffering series its teeth back, and seemingly chartered a compelling path forward (or back?) for other tangential Earth-set stories.

After the failure of Shane Black's 2018 blockbuster take on the franchise, what a desperately needed breath of fresh air this film was.

Yet considering how skillfully assembled it is by director Dan Trachtenberg, it's just a shame most of us never got to see it on the big screen.
