20 Movies That Prove 2022 Is The Best Year For Horror EVER

9. Speak No Evil

Speak No Evil is one of the most provocative and discourse-prompting horrors of the year: an acid-tongued social satire about the things people will endure under the fear of offending others.

Christian Tafdrup's film focuses on a Danish couple who are invited to spend the weekend at a Dutch couple's country home. What begins charmingly enough slides gradually into discomforting territory as the hosts test what their guests will put up with.

Speak No Evil is another film best watched while knowing little beyond that basic setup, because you're basically not ready for the wild ride that Tafdrup is about to take you on.

Despite its geographical setting, there's a universality to its central theme, that the average person will put up with just about anything to avoid rocking the boat.
