20 Movies That Prove 2022 Is The Best Year For Horror EVER

5. Deadstream

As much as many insist that found footage is a desiccated, dried-up husk of a subgenre with nothing new to offer, filmmaking duo Vanessa and Joseph Winter categorically proved otherwise with their absurdly entertaining Deadstream.

The film follows Shawn (Joseph Winter), a disgraced Internet personality who attempts to win his flagging viewer-base back by livestreaming himself in a haunted house overnight.

No points for guessing how that goes, with the Winters ensuring Shawn's night of hell becomes a gross-out rollercoaster ride that's as unnerving as it is often hilarious.

It's a tricky task to make the audience root for an inherently unlikeable character, yet Shawn's ordeal is fraught enough that the filmmakers manage to pull it off.
