20 Movies That Prove 2022 Is The Best Year For Horror EVER
2. Crimes Of The Future
David Cronenberg's first film in eight years may not rank among his very best, but it is a welcome return to form for the director, heading back to the well of body horror that's served him so damn well throughout his career.
Crimes of the Future is far from the goriest or most f**ked up thing Cronenberg has ever made, but it's certainly compelling weird from start to finish, taking place in a dystopian future where human evolution has advanced for some people, with far-reaching and deeply bizarre effects.
At once a commentary on humanity's potential future and the nature of art as a commodity, Crimes of the Future relishes manipulating the human body to deeply disconcerting effect, while benefitting from the efforts of an excellent cast.
