20 Movies That Took HUGE Risks (And NAILED It)

11. Killing James Bond - No Time to Die

No Time to Die will forever be remembered as the James Bond film that did The One Thing many never expected the franchise to do - kill off one of its 007s.

Daniel Craig's final outing as the legendary spy concluded with him being blown to smithereens by a missile strike in order to destroy villain Safin's (Rami Malek) nanobot factory, and of all the left-field creative choices made across six decades of Bond movies, this was by far the single riskiest.

Unsurprisingly Bond's demise didn't go down well with all fans, but it certainly felt like a fitting end for Craig's iteration of Bond, which was by far the most gritty and cynical take on 007 to date.

More to the point, it helped achieve a level of emotional resonance basically unparalleled for the series, while drawing the most decisive line imaginable under Craig's run.

However, this is also one of those daring gambits that the series will likely only ever get away with once, because even if Bond was killed off again in another 20 years, it wouldn't land with nearly the same impact.
