This Best Picture Academy Award-winner from Billy Wilder doesnt scream Christmas movie either (What? Extramarital affairs, alcoholism, suicide attempts, and depression arent Christmassy enough?). Despite this, the crux of the film does takes place during the season, especially the Christmas Eve office party that sets the entire rest of the film in motion. Plus, its hilarious and it goes through New Years, so you are covered for at least another week of holiday movie viewing.
2. Lion in Winter (1968)
Set during Christmas in 1183 France, Lion in Winter stars Peter OToole and Katherine Hepburn in an adaptation of James Goldwins play. The story centers on the King Henry IIs Christmas Court as he brings his feuding family together in celebration and to announce his heir. The movie is full lies, fights, and back-stabbing . . . so you know, just like everyones Christmas!
