11. Gore Verbinski: Bad Religion - "American Jesus"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=12kcpP-8jfM Believe it or not, before boarding the Black Pearl with Johnny Depp and Walt Disney, director-producer Gore Verbinski was a punk. Active in several L.A. rock bands early on, he took to shooting videos for those more prominent than his own and moulded a career surrounded by the aggressive crashes and anti-establishment lyrics. Verbinski directed a number of supporting videos for Bad Religion, with "American Jesus" easily being the most celebrated, and aided the careers of NOFX, Vicious Rumours and Monster Magnet. Since a departure from the rugged sounds and underground clubs, he has become one of the most powerful figures in studio cinema; serving as the 9th highest-grossing filmmaker in silver screen history. Wild successes have come of course from the Pirates of the Caribbean (2003 - 2017) saga, plus record-smashing titles including The Ring (2002) and Rango (2011).
