20 Obscure Movies With Hilarious IMDB Descriptions
18. Assisted Fishing (2012)
"A lifelong loser dreams of finding fame and fortune by beating his arch-rival in a big fishing tournament. In order to win, he'll need the help of some unlikely heroes - a group of eccentric seniors who live in an abusive nursing home." Hey, here's an idea - instead of taking advantage of a bunch of elderly people for your own gain to win a FISHING TOURNAMENT, why don't you report the fact that they're being abused to the proper authorities and possibly save their lives? Of course, according to a user review (and this is said in complete earnestness and without any further explanation) "Dewey and the grey hairs bond when Dewey takes them fishing and, except for one old guy who drowns, they have the time of their lives." So apparently this Dewey isn't anymore concerned with abusing seniors than the nursing home is. And if that isn't enough to sell you on this gem of a movie, the tagline for the film is "Featuring the most over-the-top fart scene in cinematic history!"
17. Titanic: The Legend Goes On... (2000)
"A Cinderella meets her Prince Charming on the ill-fated Titanic. Along for the ride are a rapping dog, other talking animals, and an assortment of wacky humans." You can already tell this movie is going to be great just by reading the title; any movie with an ellipsis in its name is surely going to deliver high drama. Then you look at the movie poster, which inexplicably features a Speedy Gonzalez look-alike and some sort of eyeless creature in the upper right hand corner. THEN you get to the description, and honestly, do you need to read anything besides "rapping dog"? Because obviously everyone knows that rap was invented by the time of the Titanic's journey in 1912 (by DJ Lil' Lord Fancypants in the studio on his ancestral estate, for those of you who aren't up on your rap history) and that dogs and other talking animals were the first practitioners in the underground luxury liner animal rap scene. And don't forget, this film also features "an assortment of wacky humans" who are surely getting into all kinds of hijinks and tomfoolery, because nothing says family fun like one of the greatest human tragedies of the 20th century! Bonus points because the main characters are clearly animated versions of Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio.
