Predicted Critical Consensus: "Ryan Coogler and Chadwick Boseman bring Wakanda surging to life in this visually stunning Marvel movie which stands as one of the MCU's most distinct efforts to date."

The hype train is starting to pick up major momentum as the release for Black Panther arrives, and while the trailers do leave some questions hanging about the quality of the visual effects and a seemingly generic main villain, this will likely be papered over by Boseman's intense lead performance and the world-building on display.

Everyone wants the movie to succeed, which might prompt critics to overlook some of its smaller issues, but more to the point, almost half of the MCU's movies to date have scored at least 90% on the Tomatometer, so the odds are looking pretty great regardless.

How its average score will fare compared to the likes of The Avengers and Captain America: Civil War remains to be seen, but it'd be absolutely jaw-dropping if this wasn't a critical smash.
