20 Problems Only Cannes Film Festival Attendees Will Understand

10. The Angry "Proper" Critics Not Liking The Bloggers

Despite the frustrations of having a yellow badge and not getting in to everything, Cannes is unique in that it offers a semi-equal footing for bloggers and the so-called "proper" journalists who hate what the industry has become.

It's the only place where a jumped up wannabe from ObsessedWithFilm.com can watch Mark Kermode have an angry breakdown at the front of a queue because of how poorly everything is organised away from the main screens (it's not, but when you're a celeb reviewer, it must be pretty annoying).

Sometimes that's worth as much as actually spotting a movie-star, particularly if you got into writing about film because of the trail-blazers.

But God forbid you take up a computer screen in the Press Office and make the mistake of checking your Facebook when a "proper" critic is trying to post copy. Because they will literally tell on you.
