20 Reasons Why Everybody Loves The Lion King

13. The Action Sequences

Another area in which The Lion King distinguishes itself is in the action sequences. The combination of animation, score, and animalism throughout the various crises keep us on the edge of our seats from the moment that the trio of hyenas cackles its way from an elephant skull through to the final showdown of Simba and Scar. Whether it is a herd of wildebeests stampeding at a lion cub or the protagonist fighting tooth-and-nail against his long-lost intended, there are no holds barred€”or claws retracted€”in the action sequences, and a genuine sense of danger arises whenever things start to go wrong for the good guys. Mufasa being flung to his death by his own brother really set the tone. Who knew?
