11. Amy Adams - Star Wars: Starfighter

Even though Amy Adams is most acclaimed for her purely dramatic work, she's certainly never shied away from blockbuster genre filmmaking, what with playing Lois Lane in the DC Extended Universe and starring in Denis Villeneuve's stunning sci-fi film Arrival.

But she'll next appear in the sci-fi franchise to rule them all, when she plays a supporting role in Shawn Levy's new standalone Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Starfighter.

In case you were hoping to see Adams swinging a lightsaber around, she'll reportedly play the mother of the young lead played by Flynn Gray, so probably not.

It'll certainly be a bit jarring to see an actor of Adams' repute and profile in a Star Wars movie, to say nothing of Ryan Gosling's presence as co-lead.

But considering it'd be criminal to cast Adams as a mere thankless mother, it's reasonable to assume she has a meatier part than the brief description suggests.
