9. Rick Moranis - Spaceballs 2
Mel Brooks' legendary sci-fi spoof Spaceballs is packed with brilliant performers, including Rick Moranis as the Darth Vader-parodying Dark Helmet.
And while fans would've certainly loved to see him reprise the role for the impending Spaceballs 2, it just didn't seem like a possibility given that Moranis hasn't had a starring role in a live-action movie since 1997's Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves.
After Moranis' wife passed away in 1991, he largely shied away from Hollywood while being a full-time father to his children - an entirely understandable decision, no matter that his fans lamented the bigger career that might've been.
But to the surprise of many, Moranis was recently confirmed to be reprising the Dark Helmet role in Spaceballs 2, which is currently set to release in 2027.
It likely helps that Moranis' children are of course now fully grown adults, but even so, it didn't seem probable that the actor would step back into an arena he's been so far outside of for so long.
