20 Recent Casting Choices NOBODY Expected
7. Jared Leto - Masters of the Universe
Jared Leto is something of an albatross around the neck of any movie he's involved with right now, because beyond his reputation for being an obnoxiously committed method actor, he was also recently accused of sexual misconduct by nine women dating back as far as 2006.
In addition to playing the title character in the upcoming Tron: Ares, Leto has also filmed a part in Masters of the Universe, where he'll play He-Man's (Nicholas Galitzine) arch-nemesis Skeletor.
Now, even putting aside the allegations against Leto, it's tough to imagine him being a particularly good fit for Skeletor.
Sure, he's a solid actor, but his most high-profile attempt at playing menacing prior to this - The Joker in David Ayer's Suicide Squad - didn't exactly pan out.
To the same token, it isn't easy to imagine Leto nailing the camp either, and while there's always room for him to surprise us, it just seems like a strange, uninspired choice on paper.
