20 Most Ridiculous Lines From The Harry Potter Films
13. "Harry, Did You Put Your Name In The Goblet Of Fire?" - Goblet Of Fire
The Line: After finding out that Harry's name has been put in the Goblet of Fire, Dumbledore angrily approaches Harry, grabs him and pleads, "Harry, did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?" All Harry can let out is "No, sir", as abject terror takes over and he finds himself being interrogated frantically. Why It's Ridiculous: For starters, it's completely different from the book, and is a major bugbear for the source material's fans. The book specifically states that Dumbledore calmly asks Harry about this, yet in the film, the reaction is almost a complete polar opposite, angry and anything but calm. Furthermore, Michael Gambon's delivery is so over-the-top that "Goblet of Fire" pretty much contracts into one near-incomprehensible "gablarfar", and it transforms a dramatic scene into something pretty ridiculous.
