20 Saddest Moments In Marvel's Cinematic Universe (So Far)

2. Who Saw That Coming?

So Marvel Studios don€™t have it in them to kill off a major character, huh? Well they sure showed us in Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Kinda. With Ragnarok en route and Captain America squaring off against regular sparring partner Tony Stark for a Civil War set to feature most of Marvel€™s finest, there were only a few characters who could feasibly pay the ultimate price against Ultron and his army of, er, Ultrons. And you can€™t kill the Hulk, so€ Ultimately it was new recruit Pietro Maximoff who was sacrificed to the Marvel gods, electing to put himself firmly in harm's way himself so that Hawkeye and an innocent child could escape a volley of aircraft fire. A pity really as Aaron Taylor-Johnson had proven himself a welcome addition to the MCU and grew into the role of Quicksilver over the course of the film. Still, his death at least packed a hefty emotional wallop driven home by the powerful performance of Elizabeth Olsen as his heartbroken twin Wanda.

I watch movies and I watch sport. I also watch movies about sport, and if there were a sport about movies I'd watch that too. The internet was the closest thing I could find.
