Creep just knocked The Descent (which we referenced in our intro) off the list as, though both movies are relatively similar, Christopher Smith's film excruciatingly scary film's antagonist is far darker than the cave-dwelling beasts of The Descent. If you live in London and you've seen Creep, you'll forever be terrified of missing the last tube or worse still falling asleep in the underground. After making a late exit from a party and falling asleep in the tube station, the main character, Kate (Franka Potente), is terrorised by a severely deformed man who resides in the depths of the underground feeding on the humans he has captured. Creep is particularly scary because of its setting. Though they were first designed as a means of connecting people, most tube/train stations are inherently creepy places when they're empty. Aside from this, dark tunnels which have the potential to conceal a nameless evil are extremely creepy at the best of times, but are mare ever worse by the fact that many of us have to use subways on a daily basis.
