20 Sports Documentaries You Must See Before You Die

16. The Bones Brigade

During the late 1990s and early-to-mid 2000s, extreme sports like skateboarding were a huge thing. Skateboarders like Tony Hawk, Rodney Mullen and Steve Cabellero became household names because of the skills they were able to pull off on a skateboard.

Although it might seem like these skateboarding idols popped up out of nowhere, they were actually put together by visionary skateboard entrepreneur, Stacy Peralta, back in the 1980s and were called the Bones Brigade. The team had some of the best young talent in the country and they went on to achieve some exceptional things throughout that time.

It's incredible to see the amount of talent this group of individuals had and what they were willing to do to not only get their names out there and inspire an entire generation of skateboarders, but also how much they helped change the perception of skateboarding to those who didn't quite understand what it could and would eventually become.
