20 Terrible 2015 Movies That Should Never Have Happened

19. The Last Witch Hunter

The Plot: When the evil Witch Queen (Julie Engelbrecht) plots to unleash a deadly plague upon New York City, humanity's only hope is Kaulder (Vin Diesel), an immortal witch hunter with the Special Set of Skills necessary to bring her down. Why It Shouldn't Exist: Because Diesel isn't much of a success outside of franchise fare, and this over-budgeted, bloated mess of a fantasy flick clinches it. It's borderline nonsensical, pretty much just wastes Michael Caine and Elijah Wood (though Wood at least tries), Diesel has zero romantic chemistry with female lead Rose Leslie, and there's barely even any action in it, just fits and bursts of CGI-addled mulch. Unsurprisingly, it bombed with critics and audiences, and so it seems unlikely that a studio would take another risk on Diesel outside of the established (his upcoming movies include sequels to xXx, Fast and Furious and Guardians of the Galaxy). A cynical mash-up of lots of things nerds like into a crude, bland paste, The Last Witch Hunter is even more terrible than it looks.
