8. "If You Build It, He Will Come"
There's little doubt that 1989's Field of Dreams requires you to push common sense to one side to enjoy it. It's a movie about a baseball field for ghosts after all. Nevertheless, Phil Alden Robinson's directorial effort won over many of the most close-minded critics, with Kevin Costner starring in the lead role as Ray Kinsella; a farmer who hears that now-famous line when strolling around one night in his crop field. It arrives in the form of a ghostly hiss, and despite sounding more amusing than haunting, the line has inexplicably proven hugely popular ever since.
