8. "If You Build It, He Will Come"

Field Of Dreams Kevin Costner There's little doubt that 1989's Field of Dreams requires you to push common sense to one side to enjoy it. It's a movie about a baseball field for ghosts after all. Nevertheless, Phil Alden Robinson's directorial effort won over many of the most close-minded critics, with Kevin Costner starring in the lead role as Ray Kinsella; a farmer who hears that now-famous line when strolling around one night in his crop field. It arrives in the form of a ghostly hiss, and despite sounding more amusing than haunting, the line has inexplicably proven hugely popular ever since.
