6. "You Call That A Knife? This, Is A Knife"
As a rule, people don't tend to waltz around towns comparing the sizes of their knives, so it's kind of incredible that this bizarre line became so frequently quoted outside of Australia. But it did alright, and Paul Hogan's brag about having a bigger blade is often considered the most memorable part of the 1986 pic Crocodile Dundee. The ridiculousness of the line is exposed when it is given a deserved and hilarious spoofing in The Simpsons episode 'Bart vs Australia', where an Aussie brandishes a spoon and claims "THIS is a knife". Bart tells him otherwise. "Alright, alright you win" replies the Aussie. "I see you've played knifey-spoony before".
