20 Terrible Movies That Do NOT Deserve Their Fresh Rotten Tomatoes Scores
14. Bad Neighbours 2
Score: 64% (Average Score: 5.80/10)
Consensus: Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising may not be strictly necessary, but it still wrings a surprising amount of humor from a recycled premise with a distaff twist.
The first Bad Neighbours, which featured Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne playing a married couple dealing with a rowdy frat-house, wasn't particularly good, but it was watchable enough all the same and the cast did a very fine job.
On the other hand, this sequel, which sees the same couple dealing with a noisy sorority, is absolute garbage.
It's a rote, painfully unfunny affair which wastes a fantastic cast and is also nothing more than a predictable rehash of the first film which, as aforementioned, wasn't that good to begin with.
Interestingly, this tries to be a feminist comedy and that was a very noble aim... so the fact that they botched this so badly makes one hate the movie that much more.
Thanks to the atrocious social commentary, offensively misandrist dialogue and shockingly misjudged ending - in which the sorority girls, who are absolute scum, get literally no comeuppance for their many terrible actions throughout the film - this is honestly a hell of a lot more offensive than many of the more laddish R-rated comedies of recent times.
With this one, even though the rating is only just fresh, that in itself feels far too generous for such a repellent movie.
Deserved Score: 20-40%.
