20 Terrible Razzie Mistakes - Corrected

14. Fifty Shades Of Grey - Worst Director And Worst Actress

Penguin Batman Returns
Universal Pictures

Just because a film is one of the worst of that year, that doesn't always mean it should be nominated in every category at the Razzies.

As awful as Fifty Shades of Grey is, Dakota Johnson's performance is actually rather good and she's certainly proved herself in numerous films since, so her being nominated and subsequently winning was completely unfair, especially since far worse performances like Gwyneth Paltrow in Mortdecai were also nominated. Similarly, Sam Taylor-Johnson did a solid job with the directing and both of them kept this at the two-star level when it could easily have been a one-star movie.

Corrected:

Pixels, an even worse movie than this, was one of the big nominees at that ceremony and that should've taken the Worst Director slot for Chris Columbus' thoroughly weak directing of it. As for Worst Actress, Yolandi's dreadful performance in Chappie should've not only been nominated but frankly won.
