20 Terrible Razzie Mistakes - Corrected

15. Battleship - Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Supporting Actor, Worst Screenplay And Worst Screen Ensemble

Penguin Batman Returns
Universal Pictures

Why was Battleship so critically mauled?

Was it because it was based on a board game? That's the only logical explanation since this was a perfectly watchable blockbuster that was forgettable as opposed to bad, so this should Not have dominated the 2013 ceremony in the manner that it did.

Out of the seven nominations this received, the two Worst Supporting Actress nominations for Rihanna (who won) and Brooklyn Decker were fine, but Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, Worst Screen Ensemble and Worst Supporting Actor (Liam Neeson; this was shared with his performance Wrath of the Titans) were wildly excessive.

Corrected:

Much like The Devil Inside, 2012's other found-footage horror turkey Paranormal Activity 4 was one of the year's worst films and should've been nominated for Worst Picture and Worst Director.

Meanwhile, Ben Kingsley deserved a nomination for his terrible villainous performance in The Dictator (if only because of how ridiculous it was that such a brilliant actor would sign up for such a silly part that didn't deserve him), Dark Shadows' tone-deaf script deserved a nomination for Worst Screenplay and Wrath of the Titans (which thankfully did get some attention from the Razzies, but not enough) would've been a better pick for Worst Screen Ensemble.
