20 Terrible Razzie Mistakes - Corrected

12. Rambo: Last Blood - Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Actor, Worst Supporting Actress, Worst Sequel And Worst Screenplay

Penguin Batman Returns
Lionsgate

This year's Razzie nominations were actually rather good, but this perfectly OK action flick getting eight nomination was a big mistake. In particular, Sylvester Stallone's excellent lead performance being nominated was awful.

Rambo: Last Blood wasn't among 2019's worst. Remember, 2019 contained Midway, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, The Lion King, Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Men in Black: International, Countdown and Serenity, as well as 2020's other four Worst Picture nominees (Cats, The Fanatic, The Haunting of Sharon Tate and Madea's Family Funeral).

Corrected:

This was nominated for Worst Picture, Worst Director, Worst Actor, Worst Screenplay, Worst Supporting Actress (Fenessa Pineda, who barely even appears), Worst Sequel, Worst Screen Combo (Sylvester Stallone and his Impotent Rage) and Worst Reckless Disregard for Human Life and Public Property.

Ignoring the latter joke category, let's throw out all these nominations shall we?

Firstly, the appalling Serenity deserved nods for Worst Picture, Worst Screenplay and Worst Screen Combo (Matthew McConaughey and a tuna called "Justice").

For Worst Director and Worst Supporting Actress, the dreadful The Haunting of Sharon Tate deserved both of those nominations (for any of the terrible supporting actresses) and Midway deserved the Worst Actor nod (Ed Skrein).

Finally, Worst Sequel... should've gone The Lion King since it copied and pasted an amazing, beloved film and then sucked out all its joy and heart.

To make matters worse, Last Blood eventually won Worst Sequel over the deserving winner X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Just ridiculous.
