18. Why Doesn't Ariel Just Write To Eric?
The Film: The Little Mermaid Answer: Ariel signs her name on the contract to Ursula so she can clearly write and thus should probably have saved a lot of time and confusion by writing a little note to Eric telling him to kiss her but no. The solution, unfortunately, is that Ariel is clearly an idiot, as evidenced by her willingness to leave her entire friends, family and world whilst changing her whole identity in the process in order to get a boyfriend... She has to change everything about herself so that he will accept her, despite the fact that they have never even spoken to each other before. But at least they both find each other physically attractive, because that's what true love is all about, right?
