Whilst he probably does his proper scripts on a computer (albeit in a garage, which had to be abandoned due to overheating once whilst working on one of the Batman films since they had the washer and dryer on at the same time), Nolan still puts together an outline for his movies a couple of weeks before shooting on a typewriter given to him by his father when he was 21, which appears as a prop in Following.
13. He Started Young
His working methods and excellent taste in cinema have been with Nolan ever since the beginning - which occurred earlier than you'd think. He was just a seven-year-old when his dad took him to see the first Star Wars film in cinemas, followed by 2001, both of which apparently sparked his interest in filmmaking. Not long after he started making shorts of his own, using his copywriter father's Super 8 camera.
